Antoine Michel is an osteopath trained in France who has spent several years treating adults and children in France, Martinique, and Calgary.
After six years of full-time training in osteopathy, he took an internship that allowed him to observe gynaecological, obstetrical and perinatal surgeries. He treats people from all walks of life, including athletes and anyone looking to optimize their health. His range of abilities include treating gut health, craniosacral therapy, and visceral manipulation. Antoine is also skilled in helping patients with joint discomfort, back and neck pain, and shoulder dysfunctions.
The internship sparked his interest in working with children, and he pursued three more years of training with a pediatrician. Since he arrived in Calgary in 2017, he has collaborated with breastfeeding clinics across the city, helping infants and their parents who are going through tough times during the first stages of life.
When he ran his own clinic in Martinique, he worked with a team of medical doctors, gynaecologists, and pediatricians. This experience allowed him to treat patients of all ages and a wide variety of conditions as part of a multi-disciplinary medical team. Antoine’s medical training includes a deep knowledge of anatomy and physiology, which he taught in Paris for several years after graduation.
You’ll find that Antoine enjoys explaining to you step-by-step what he’s doing during the treatment, why he’s doing it, and what effect the treatment will have. He will always adapt to your needs, and make sure you are comfortable with the path chosen. His experience has shown him that treatments are most successful when his patients understand what he did, why he did it, and what the next steps are.
Antoine is a highly competent and compassionate partner on your journey toward health. He is fully registered with the Alberta Association of Osteopathic Manual Therapists.
When he isn’t working, Antoine enjoys spending time with his wife and friends, as well as exploring the outdoors, especially during the winter time. He is excited to be welcoming a baby girl in October 2019!
